New Female Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Joins The Team

Bronwyn Bell is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who has moved from Portsmouth NHS Trust to join The Poundbury Clinic at an exciting time of expansion.

Bronwyn is passionate about helping women manage their health and well-being through the provision of accessible, evidence-based, holistic health care. She believes in promoting well-being through healthy living and addressing women’s healthcare problems through a personalised approach. Bronwyn will be setting up “Women through the ages” clinics which will provide women with accessible, one-stop, age-specific clinics.  She will also be co-ordinating The Poundbury Clinic’s egg donation scheme. Bronwyn aims to establish an endometriosis centre bringing together a team of specialists including an anaesthetist with a special interest in pain management, an acupuncturist, a nutritionist and a colorectal surgeon. This will provide women who suffer from this complex condition to be managed by a local team of experts.

Bronwyn will be arranging regular educational women’s health meetings for both patients and local women’s health care providers at The Poundbury Clinic. She is working on developing her interest in medical management and establishing a blueprint for state of the art women’s healthcare facilities.

Bronwyn has a special interest in period problems, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fertility, pre-menstrual syndrome and the menopause. She has specialist skills in minimal access (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgery and office hysteroscopy. Bronwyn qualified at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and completed her post graduate specialist training in the Wessex Deanery, becoming a member of the RCOG in 2007. Bronwyn has a Diploma in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery from the University of Surrey and is working on a dissertation project for the reward of MSc. Bronwyn is a member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy, The American Association of Gynaecological Laparoscopists, the British Menopause Society, The National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome, the Royal Society of Medicine and a Fellow of the Faculty of Family Planning and Sexual Health.

Bronwyn is married to David and has one child, Maia who is 1.
